Environmental Justice Task Force

Approved November 2008, the Environmental Justice Task Force is the newest addition to LAC's issue work.   The EJTF has focused on the implementation of weatherization projects in our local Section 8 buildings. We are also researching how we might improve access to green jobs in Lakeview.

Join us at our next meeting when we will determine the direction of our new green jobs initiative:
Monday, December 25th, 7pm  Location TBD

Barbara Campbell, resident of Lincoln Park Plaza introduces John Hamilton, Director of Weatherization at CEDA. He committed to working with LAC to bring Federal weatherization funds to our local Section 8 buildings.

In June 2009, LAC leaders, including many tenants from Lincoln Park Plaza and Belmont Towers, as well as local church congregants, came out to hear about LAC's new initiative and to learn more about resources that might be available to them. Speakers included Ald. Tom Tunney, Kim Walz from Rep. Quigley's office, Stacy Young from the Preservation Compact, and John Hamilton from CEDA.
