Illinois State Budget Crisis

In 2010, Lakeview Action Coalition's Community Council voted to join the Responsible Budget Coalition and fight for a tax increase. We won!

But still, our state government is making drastic cuts to the social services we fought so hard to protect. LAC and our allies founded a new state-wide coalition called Make Wall Street Pay Illinois.

We are calling for the regulation of the big banks and the closing of corporate tax loopholes. Illinois residents took a hit to their pocketbooks when we fought for a tax increase, now it's time for the banks and corporations to pay their fair share.
